    Sorry,
Yes, it is the Ignition Control Module... or IGNITOR for short. The coil is the cheapest, so try it first. Then again, if you buy an ICM first, and the problem still exists, you can go ahead and buy the MSD Blaster Street coil and not waste any money. Just don't choke on the price of this tiny little part... your local dealership will probably bang you for about $235.00 !!!

    OUCH !!!

    Lou,
I personally have had a bad experience with MSD plug wires... I installed a set on my Hybrid, and three months later, I attempted to remove them in order to replace my spark plugs, and the boots seperated from the wire cores on two of the four plug wires. I contacted MSD and they said, in a very nice and PC way "Too bad, So sad" !!! Since then, it has only been NGK for me.

I NEED THIS ANSWERED ASAP!!!! HOPEFULLY YOU CAN ANSWER THIS IN A DAY OR SO GUYS!!!!!

i just bought the MSD ignition system. the one i bought was the MSD SCI Ignition.
My question is...is that what i need for my set-up or can i go with the MSD 6A
The MSD SCI (silver box) is for import car specific and i think the MSD6A is for all applications..Is this a good buy or should i get the simple 6A instead (red box)!!!

    PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!!!

    MY set-up will be....

Jim's stepper pulley with 440cc RC injectors, EFI PMS system, Walbro fuel pump, JR fuel regulator, MSD street blaster, DC 4-1 headers

    Wink

The simple 6A box is all that you need... the SCI box actually is designed for N/A Import vehicles and is essentially the same as a 6AL only with a higher cost.

JRCIVIC....is the 6A and the 6AL made for all application type cars, or are they specified for domestic or import...one box for domestic and one box for import cars?????
As well which do you think would be better for my application??? Do i really need the rev limiter option on the 6AL??
the part # for the 6A is 6200 and the 6AL is 6420 right?
Thanks in advance JRCIVIC and everyone else that replies!!!

The MSD 6A and SCI are exactly the same thing except for the color. I got curious so I called MSD tech support a few months ago and was confirmed.

I have never used a MSD SCI box on a JRSC powered Honda/Acura. I have only installed 6A or 6AL boxes on them and have not experienced any problems at all. Both of these boxes are "universal" except for one feature: The 6AL has some small wires found just inside a small cover on the side that require a specific sequence to be cut in order to use it on a 4 or 6 cylinder car... it is set up out of the box for a V8.

    JRCivic,

Could you elaborate on this please? After installing my MSD BTM, the shop tells me that the ignition in my car is firing too many times per cycle and it's making the timing light strobe abnormal. Im wondering if this is the problem....

Anyways, please elaborate or can you point me to a website to check it out? Anyone? Thank you.
